The Articles of Faith of Beulah Community Church
THE TRINITY
We believe in the Triune God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each Person being equal yet there being not three gods but ONE. Gen. 1:1, John 10:30, John 4:24.
VERBAL INSPIRATION
We believe in the verbal inspiration and plenary authority of both Old and New Testaments. 2 Tim. 3:16-17.
TOTAL DEPRAVITY
We believe in the total depravity and lost condition of all men by nature. Rom. 3:19.
PERSONALITY OF SATAN
We believe in the personality of Satan. Job. 1:6, 7.
VIRGIN BIRTH
We believe in the Virgin Birth and Deity of Jesus Christ our Lord. Luke 1:35.
BLOOD ATONEMENT
We believe in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the only atonement for sins. Rom. 3:25, Heb. 9:22.
RESURRECTION
We believe in the Bodily Resurrection and Lordship of Jesus and the resurrection of the saved to life, the lost to condemnation. Acts 2:23, Rom. 1:4, 1 Cor. 15th chapter.
JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH
Men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Acts 13: 38-39.
PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that it is the Spirit’s work to convict of sin and lead to Christ that they might believe on Him and be saved. In all ages the saints of God have had the Spirit, but at Pentecost He was given in a special manner. The characteristic of the dispensation of grace is that the Holy Spirit dwells in believers. In past dispensations Old Testament saints could pray, “Take not thy Holy Spirit from me” Psa. 51:11. Since Pentecosts, believers are indwelt by Him; otherwise how can we explain such Scriptures as the following: “The Holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Christ was not yet glorified?” John 7:39. “When the Comforter is come whom I will send unto you from My Father” John 15:26; “If I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you” John 16:7. No unsaved person has the Holy Spirit. He indwells every believer coming in when they are saved. The Christian does not need to pray that he may receive the Holy Spirit. By Him we are sealed unto the day of redemption. Eph. 4:30. He is the earnest of our inheritance. Eph. 1:13. We do not believe in any second work of Grace. We believe that the Sign-gifts including tongues, gradually disappeared as the canon of Scripture was completed and the authority of the Bible generally recognized.
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe in the eternal security and assurance of all the saved. John 5:25; 10:28-29.
SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We believe that the gifts of evangelists, pastors and teachers Eph. 4:7-12 are sufficient for the perfecting of the Church today.
THE CHURCh
The saved in this dispensation are members of the Body of Christ, the Church. 1 Cor. 12: 12-13.
THE ETERNAL STATE
We believe in the eternal conscious punishment of every unsaved person Matt. 25:46, Rev. 22:11 and of the eternal felicity of every saved person. John 14:16, Phil. 3:20.
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe in the Personal and Imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 1:11, 1 Thess 4: 16, 17.
SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD
We believe that all the saved are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices. James 4:4, Rom. 12:2, 1 John 2:16, 2 Cor. 6:14.
MARRIAGE
We believe that marriage is an institution between one man and one woman. Though we bear no malice against any person or group and love our brothers and sisters in Christ, we stand on the Holy Bible as given by divine inspiration from God. This being said, we choose to love all those who sin, but we reject the sin itself. As the scripture makes clear, marriage is a bond between one man and one woman as found in Matt. 19:4-6. Therefore, as it applies to our faith and the workings of Beulah Community Church, we define and ordain marriage as an act of life long commitment between one man and one woman, who can be lawfully and spiritually joined together as one. (Amended 2015)
WORD OF GOD
The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God to His people. It is the inerrant truth that God has given to guide and direct the lives of those who accept Him as their savior. To this end the church will only recognize the King James Version of the Bible as God’s Holy Word. All scripture referenced in the Articles of Faith will be based on this version of the Bible. 2 Tim 3:16-17. (Amended 2015)
